The Spanish participating broadcaster, Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE), together with the Generalitat Valenciana, organised Benidorm Fest 2025 in order to select its entry for the contest. Melody had attempted to represent Spain in 2009 with "Amante de la luna" but came second in the national final in a tie in points with the winner.
