WDR 5 Nachrichten

WDR 5 Nachrichten is a radio station based in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, broadcasting in German. The brand appears in public radio directories as an active listening destination for online and, where applicable, terrestrial audiences.

A full public chronology is only partly documented online, so this profile focuses on verified identity, format and availability rather than unverified milestones. Background details were cross-checked against publicly available encyclopedic and/or official web material without copying source wording into this article.

Programming centres on hourly news, nachrichten, news, world news, with a clear emphasis on news and spoken-word output.

Coverage details in Germany vary by transmitter and platform; online listening remains the most consistent way to follow the feed internationally.
